The treasure is found in the cheers and laughter of your family and friends as they forget about their cares and get lost in moments of sheer joy and exhilaration. The riches are discovered not by looking down and what can be extracted from the earth, but by looking up at a million sparkling diamonds that glitter overhead as the stars illuminate the night sky over northern California.

Lake Oroville is considered one of the best bass fishing lakes in the Western USA. The lake is home to a wide variety of fish and is regularly stocked by Fish and Game with coho salmon from the nearby Feather River Fish Hatchery. The Hatchery, when in season, offers a close-up view of spawning salmon, and provides self-guided tours for visitors. The lake's record-setting two-story fishery provides enthusiasts with a variety of catches such as crappie, catfish, rainbow and German brown trout, bluegill, and green sunfish. Noted for its bass (spotted, large- and small-mouth, etc.) fishing, Lake Oroville is a popular spot for bass tournaments.
The South Forebay of the lake is used by speed boats, personal water craft and hydroplanes. The North Forebay is reserved for non-motorized use only, such as sailing and windsurfing. In addition you can discover the 41-mile bike/equestrian trail, which is a nice flat 'around the lake' experience.
